HeatherL
We have been invited to an LDS wedding reception this evening and I just went on the registery to pick a gift to go get. With over 300 items between two stores only 2 items have been purchased. Is it not acceptable to buy them a gift off the registery? The info was included in the invitation, but I don't want to show up tonight with a gift and feel awkward. Is there some other type of gift that is preferred? Thank you for your help!! melbotoast
IME, it is normal to buy things off of the registry. I think the majority of stuff we got was from our registry. Some people brought other gifts which was fine too. We also got a lot of gift cards.
Amira
Agreed, bringing a gift from the registry is normal.
gardenmom5
if you want to purchase a gift off the registry - go ahead. it's fine. I've seen ones that were all but ignored, and ones that were followed. it has nothing to do with being LDS. it could have to do with other people also procrastinating buying a gift until the last minute . . . .
