Timelines - how often do you do these?

I am in the process of working out my 5th grade plans. We will be doing a history timeline for the first time this year. I am shooting for about once a month. This will allow the formulation of the timeline to also serve as a prompt to review previous lessons. It will also (I hope) mean that more things get entered on it at once, thereby giving a bigger picture view of things. If we did it every day, I fear that ds would just plop down "The Fall of Rome" and not take the time to see how that relates to Nero's death or Caesar's reign or anything else for that matter.

I think we will stick to once a week. We are using Biblioplan, and I think we shall do timeline and map work on our fourth day. I LOVE he once a month idea (what a great way to sneak in a review!), but my ds is not keen on the timeline in the first place, and I fear we would have too many entries all at once.
