A gift book for a graduating boy?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to a brunch tomorrow to honor a darling boy who is going off the college. I would like to take him a book. Maybe something with wisdom for young men, but he's too "super cool" to read something really preachy.

Ideas?

A friend of my son's gave him Spurgeon's "Morning and Evening" in modern english, (utilizing the ESV version of the Bible) and wrote in the front of the book "This guy knows what he's talking about."

If this graduating friend of yours has any level of faith at all, it will be sorely tested in college. Tossing a devotional to a guy is a great idea, in my opinion. He can read it or not, but he'll tuck it away and may turn to it in later years.

My son has been using the book, and it's been helpful to him, to his surprise ;)

I gave the book Do Hard Things by Brett & Alex Harris (19yo twins) for graduation this year. Great read! And not preachy, just encouraging. Preachy is when a 60 year old man writes a book called Do Hard Things, lol. When 19yos write it, it's a fun read.
