Michelle My Bell
I have found all sorts of great books for boys: Created for Work Boyhood and Beyond Practical Happiness but aside from reading these to my daughters, are there any similar books out there for girls? I know about Beautiful Girlhood but I am not looking for that particular title at this time. Any suggestions. I am thinking for my 10 & 13 year old daughters. AndyJoy
Have you heard of Polished Cornerstones? I have no personal experience, but I'm interested in the boys' version, Plants Grown Up.
momto5blessings
I, too, would be interested in some titles. Thank you!
carriewillard
Not sure if you are Christian but the book of Ruth (loyalty, bravery, faithfulness, love, friendship) read about Queen Esther (courage, respect, femininity), Sarah, Zipporah, Abigail, the Shulammite maiden, I could go on.... Sahamamama
:lurk5: Hard to find, isn't it? We used A Child's Book of Character Building, Book 1. This is not specifically for girls, but we enjoyed it (though at younger ages than 10 and 13). Here are some other options: The Character of Elsie Dinsmore (Michael Dante Aprile) Character-Based Writing Lessons (IEW) Books that Build Character (William Kilpatrick) Character Builders (Liz Knowles & Martha Smith) Christian Character (Gary Maldaner) Teaching Character through Literature (Beautiful Feet) Discovering a Christ-Like Character (Jan Harris) HTH. Eyesoflyte
Would one of Elizabeth George's books work? A Young Woman After God's Own Heart or A Girl After God's Own Heart Another one I have heard of but have not seen (recommended by Elisabeth Elliot) is Girl of Beauty by Carol Fiddler.
