Character Education for Girls

Recommended Posts

I have found all sorts of great books for boys:

Created for Work

Boyhood and Beyond

Practical Happiness

but aside from reading these to my daughters, are there any similar books out there for girls? I know about Beautiful Girlhood but I am not looking for that particular title at this time. Any suggestions. I am thinking for my 10 & 13 year old daughters.

Hard to find, isn't it?

We used A Child's Book of Character Building, Book 1. This is not specifically for girls, but we enjoyed it (though at younger ages than 10 and 13). Here are some other options:

  • The Character of Elsie Dinsmore (Michael Dante Aprile)
  • Character-Based Writing Lessons (IEW)
  • Books that Build Character (William Kilpatrick)
  • Character Builders (Liz Knowles & Martha Smith)
  • Christian Character (Gary Maldaner)
  • Teaching Character through Literature (Beautiful Feet)
  • Discovering a Christ-Like Character (Jan Harris)
