What options are there for a middle schooler to make graphs on computer for projects?

I agree. We use this a lot. I even use it over graphics programs I own because it is so easy.

If you don't have Excel and are looking for a free spreadsheet program (which can do graphs), Open Office is an option. Their "Calc" program is compatible with Excel. http://www.openoffice.org/product/calc.html

What kind of graphs? Excel is only good for graphs for data. If you want to graph functions and do mathematical graphs, you need another program. Let me know if you need a mathematical graphing package. I can point you to some.

 

You would make a graph in the package and save it as a jpeg or png and insert it into Word. Or you could make a screen capture and save it as a jpeg and insert it into Word.

This is for a simple data graph. I will look into these-thanks! We do have Excel and Word but since we need to do it on the fly w/out a huge learning curve right now, the Create a Graph might be easiest! Thanks!
