BrookValley.
If I am feeling rough, I like comfort food. I'd say you can't go wrong (unless there's an allergy or preference involved) with a nice big pan of lasagna or, even easier, ziti. Add a nice loaf of crusty bread and maybe some cookies or brownies and I'd love you forever. :) Not unique or creative, but it can be easy! itsheresomewhere
Don't make lasagna. That seems to be the to go meal of choice and people end up with several. What type of illness? If she were having chemo, that could change my answer. Does she have any favorites that are easy to make?

Lara in Colo
This really does depend on the type of sickness--- flu= soup--chicken--real brothy but for back surgery this would be bad so I would want something more solid and fingerish. details, details, details
Anne
She's having a miscarriage. :crying: I should have said - thanks so much for the ideas so far! Anne
Lara in Colo
I would make soothing "back to momma" food. Chicken soup meatloaf, mash potatoes, green beans roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, onion pot roast for ease, the roast chicken and the pot roast are probably the easiest. itsheresomewhere
Make comfort food. Mashed potatoes, Meatloaf, roast chicken, gravy. Does she have a favorite dessert? I would make her foods that she loves.
Ali in OR
Easy? Something kids will eat? I'd go with "separates" instead of a casserole. Rotisserie chicken or good deli meats, rolls, fresh strawberries, green salad, pint of Ben & Jerry's, and some cookies (don't skimp on dessert!).
