Lisa in the UP of MI
Next year I'd like to study chemistry for the first half of the year and physics for the second half. I think I'd like to use Elements: Intro to Chemistry as part of the chemistry portion. I have no idea what to use while studying physics. What would you recommend for main books, supplements, biographies, etc. This will be for a fourth grader and a second grader. Thanks! mumto2
We used Christian kids explore Physics and were pleased. We also used Ellen McHenry's chemistry courses which were great. I recommend looking at her website.
mom31257
On Facebook, Jeannie Fulbright said her Apologia Chemistry and Physics will be out this summer.
Lisa in the UP of MI
We used Christian kids explore Physics and were pleased. Is this usable by a 4th grader and a 2nd grader?
mom31257
Is this usable by a 4th grader and a 2nd grader? The book says it is for 4th-8th graders. I think it is probably their most difficult book and might be too much for a 2nd grader.
mumto2
Is this usable by a 4th grader and a 2nd grader? My dc's were 8 and 10 when we used it. We had a great year but my son was super motivated. He wanted a year of physics and chemistry desperately and was thrilled when I managed to piece it together. Unfortunately I don't have access to my copy of the book right now so I can't look at it.
mschickie
We are using Real Science 4 Kids Physics and Chemistry books for dd in 4th grade. These books are great. The concepts are really broken down to a level the kids understand without dumbing it down. The labs are a lot of fun too. I will admit I am looking forward to the Apologia one too. We will probably do another year of chemistry and physics just because they are fun.
