I could've sworn I heard that. Unfortunately "monogamous" isn't always what it appears to be. My advice for any sexually active woman, even if you've had the same partner forever and you're certain he's not cheating, is to get the yearly exam no matter what. The really horrifying fact is how non-symptomatic and devastating STDs can be. That being said, most doctors don't seem to test for STDs unless requested, except for sometimes during pregnancy. I should be pretty well healed from the surgery by then to deal with whatever they have to tell me.
