TheReader
our laptop is able to switch regions; I'm not sure how to figure that out, maybe search the model number? (although, we can only switch it back & forth so many times, so be careful you don't freeze it in the wrong region). You can also search your DVD player model number; some have a code online that you can use to unlock the player and make it multi-regional. Some older drives don't have this restriction. If you have any geeky friends (know anyone who, say, downloads shows from the UK to see them before we get them here? chances are they buy region 2 DVDs as well), they may be able to rip the DVD for you and strip out the region encoding so you can play it on a regular DVD player or on your computer without worry or restriction.
