WriterGirl
Someone on a local hs loop asked if I'd mentor her daughter who hopes to be a novelist. That conversation led to the idea of a workshop for kids who love to write and have aspirations of being published someday. I got a date, reserved a room, and folks are signing up! I'm so looking forward to it! Here's the website I put together for the class -- I used the software on my new MacBook, and I think it turned out kinda fun. http://web.mac.com/juliekenner/Site/Welcome.html (the cat is my cat Tiger, who is the stereotypical "writer cat;" the pink book is a Russian edition of one of my novels. I have no idea why it was on my desk that day; goodness knows I wasn't reading it.) Another "just had to share" moment

dangermom
Oh, that looks so fun! My daughter would love to do something like that someday. Also, I'd never heard of your books (sorry) but they look fun, and I put one on hold at the library. ;)
WriterGirl
LOL! That's okay. Alas, I am not world famous. Yet. :)

Jann in TX
Georgetown is not too far either... We'll have to get our calendars out...
WriterGirl
Would you come to Houston ... Actually, depending on how it goes, I'm toying with the idea of, as one of my friends said, "taking it on the road." LOL! I have three books due by the end of summer, though, so I'm going to make it through this one and then re-group!

CindyPTN
How neat! I grew up in Georgetown. I would have loved something like this. I went "home" before Christmas and was in awe with the new library! I loved the Red Poppy Coffee Shop.
WriterGirl
And what's even better is that you can take the food INTO the kid's section. So the kids can have yogurt and I get my coffee while we get our books. Heaven.
