Elizabeth in MN
What do you do first on the Internet? My family is well trained to *not* talk to me until I have a) had my first serving of caffeine in the morning and b) done my Internet rounds. First thing *was* iGoogle with the weather (still the best of anything out there IMO), then my list of stuff to do (now moved to Outlook) my two email accounts, my Blog reader and reminder to look at Facebook. Eventhally I checked my book/cd/dvde swap sites, this board, Pintrest, Livejournal Lifehacker, and Tumblr. That was it - simple but keepin' me connected. But now iGoogle - the keystone to all of this, is going to be no more. I feel like I am floundering! There is a thread about alternatives to iGoogle already. I'm wondering what constitutes your all's Internet rounds!
Tap
Email-I log in through the main website so I catch the news on there too. I only get one or two personal emails a week, so I don't have much to do other than read/delete. I only get 1-6 emails a day so it only takes a few minutes. Here. That is it. UnsinkableKristen
I usually start with FB, then weather, email, and here while I drink my coffee. Later in the day I look at my blog reader/pinterest/etc. What a fun question! I like hearing how everyone starts their days :)
Guest
I check my email and then here. I used to do the whole facebook, pinterest, a gazillion blogs, etc., etc., etc. I was spending way too much time on stuff that really wasn't important to me, so I cut it all out. Mom22ns
Email and here. I spend too much time on the computer with just those two. I check FB irregularly. I can't imagine how much time I would spend online if I did all of those others. My family would NEVER get my attention.
Joani
Lately I've been getting a good 45 minutes alone in the mornings while my oldest is out running and everyone else is still asleep. I start off on 8tracks.com, find a mix that suits my mood for the morning, then check e-mail, respond to the quick ones, take a look at the calendar and plan out my day. Then, I either I check another forum, here and facebook or I log off and read until my house becomes too noisy. :) Edited July 5, 2012 by Joani
chepyl
Email, Facebook, and here. I visit my dance forum every now and then. It is pretty slow lately and I keep up with friends from there on Facebook now. I won't add anything else. I spend enough time.on the Internet with the three things I do. I have them.all on my phone, so I check randomly throughout the day. 5 minutes here and there.
ThisIsTheDay
I check my email and then here. I used to do the whole facebook, pinterest, a gazillion blogs, etc., etc., etc. I was spending way too much time on stuff that really wasn't important to me, so I cut it all out. We just had no power for five days. I was surprised how little I miss any internet "socializing." I missed keeping up with the news, but that's probably because I was more interested in local, current (hourly) info regarding weather and power restoration. I got back on tonight and deleted my big FB game that I play. Now I wonder how I'll spend tomorrow morning before everyone else gets up? :D
