Bensmom
If you use instant or powdered milk, how do you get rid of all the lumps and clumps???
Pegasus
Mix up small batches in a jar with a lid. Shake it and then shake it some more. Then chill it until it is very cold as it helps with the taste.
Amira
You can also use a blender (or lots of whisking, which is what I do when I don't want to wash the blender).
swellmomma
I mix with a whisk, never have lumps and clumps beyond tiny ones.
Heidi
No, no, no... here is what you do. ;) Say you want to make a 2 quart pitcher. You fill up the pitcher half way with luke warm water and stir in all the powder with a whisk. It dissolves pretty quickly with no lumps when the water is warm (not hot). Then fill it all the way up and chill.

Amira
I've found some brands can be much lumpier than others. When I used powdered milk, the brand I usually used was much lumpier than some others, but I used it anyway because I thought the flavor was better. Usually instant powdered milk is much easier to mix up, but I think the flavor is nasty.
Pamela H in Texas
I've never had it be lumpy. But the warm water way makes sense to me.
