SonshineLearner
Bethany doesn't mean "poor house" - it means "house of figs" I have an Abigail Elizabeth. Some other good girlie Bible names are Leah, Rachel and Susanna. Depends on where you look. When I was much younger :) the books I looked at did indeed say something along the lines of "poor house" or "house of the poor".... And they did switch it because of the "known meaning" of the name. Now when I just looked again there is the meaning of it being associated with "poor" and I also see "house of figs" and close to that. Coolness of the internet :)
BatmansWife
Bethany doesn't mean "poor house" - it means "house of figs" I have an Abigail Elizabeth. Some other good girlie Bible names are Leah, Rachel and Susanna. That's the first and middle name of my youngest sister! My oldest dd is Tabitha. So, I vote for that.....even though it's not one of the choices ;) . ETA: ok....I did a real vote this time. I voted for Abigail. If all of your kids have Bible names, I don't think I'd go with Julia. I don't think people will associate that name with the Bible. Heart_Mom
At this point, I think we're trying to decide between Lydia and Naomi. Abigail's not completely ruled out, but I don't think we're going to go with that name. If I can think of a great middle name for Naomi, that may just be the one! :001_smile: I had mentioned upthread that Naomi sounded funny with my last name, but my husband thinks it actually sounds the best with it, so we'll see! :001_smile:
Mandowife
Our third dd is Naomi! She is Naomi Rachel... So of course I voted for Naomi.
oasis
If you don't already have an Elizabeth, I think Naomi Elizabeth is a beautiful name!

Susan in TX
I vote for Lydia of those. Our last little guy would have been Magdalene--"Maggie" for short--if he'd been a girl! We have a Magdalene and she goes by "Maggie" most of the time. We also have a Lydia, Hannah, Esther, Sarah, Abigail, Judith, and Ruth.
