Dianne-TX
We have our Read to Succeed tickets to use by Aug. It's been years since we've gone to Six Flags in Arlington. Is it still decent and will it fulfill our fun or should we just go to Fiesta? We went to Fiesta last year and just thought we would try a different location this year. If the Arlington Six Flags has "gone to pot", please let me know so we don't waste our time. Thanks.
Amy loves Bud
Well, I don't know because I haven't been there, but my good friends just bought season tickets for the 2nd year in a row. They've taken their three kids - 9, 8, 4 - three times already this year. It's an hour drive for us. So, I guess they like it :). Personally, I don't do amusement parks in the heat, so it doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me ;).
Ferdie
We were there last year and it was great. I thought the park was well taken care of and I was very impressed with manners of the unescorted teens. I think they have a new Tony Hawk ride this year so they must be putting money into the park. Even if you don't like roller coasters you have to try Shock Wave, oh, and Jud Roy Scream too. I did Texas Giant once and Run Away Mine (the indoor one) also, but once was enough for me on those two rides. My friends mentioned that they are really strict about brining snacks in but I always loaded up a backpack with fresh veggies (carrots sticks, snap peas, cucumbers slices, and radishes) and they never said anything to me. I also bring bottled water too and refill at the water fountain. The food is so expensive there so for lunch we go to the Chinese food place, (I think Panda Express) and get two, 3-item lunches. It comes with chow mein, fried rice plus three sides. I ask for two extra plates/forks and split that with my three kids. Makes for an affordable lunch. Also, wear comfortable shoes that can get wet if you have them because there are a couple of water rides where you get drenched which is going to feel great in this hot weather. Have fun!!! LinRTX
We just went in May. My family always loves this park and we go on homeschool day each May. They added several family rides last year if you do not like roller coasters. Linda
clwcain
I live just up the street from it, although I haven't visited it in over 10 years. My impression is that the park is fine during the day, but after dark they have had gang problems for the last few years. Whichever you choose, I hope y'all have a great time. Dianne-TX
I'm glad to hear it's still in good shape. I live in the Houston area and Astroworld closed a few years ago and it was a huge and once great amusement park that went to pot and had gang problems and was just not what it used to be. Noone would go to it anymore. So, I'm glad to hear that Six Flags is still hanging in there.
Tracey in TX
We went in mid-May and enjoyed it. I was really surprised b/c several years ago I thought it was the pits. Seems to have improved since 2002. We got season passes and will go again several times much to our surprise.
summer
My DD and DH went on homeschool day and had a blast. But of course, they were not dealing with the usual crowds. My sister and her children go all the time and have season passes and like it. I hate the heat so I do not go.
