Supertechmom
too late! :glare: I realized I needed a homeschool code for the Ap test on Monday morning. They are closed and wont open before i have to drop him off for the test. The place we are taking the test said we are to bring our own codes. I found some old codes that said the PSAt code was the same for the AP codes. Does anyone know this is true or happen to have a SC code for the ap test? :willy_nilly:
Laura in CA
Yes, they are the same as the PSAT codes -- unless you're in CA or FL, in which case they are, weirdly, one digit different.
Musicmom
Yes, it does appear they are the same as the PSAT codes. I got worried seeing this thread as my dd is also taking her first AP test Monday morning. The AP site says the coordinator at the school will provide the homeschool code, but that makes me nervous (even though the school dd will be testing at is very friendly and very on top of things). Anyway, I found an old thread from a year ago: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270931 and following that I went and found the AP Coordinators Manual on this page of College Board site: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/ap/coordinate The state homeschool codes are on Page 18 of the manual. The one for our state is definitely the same as the PSAT code. The code for SC is 994199.

JoanHomeEd
Not intending to hijack... but does the AP exam FRQ answer booklet come with wide ruled or just plain sheets for the students to write the answers? TIA
Moira in MA
dd2 says English Language was wide ruled. It may be different for others. Good luck to all the test takers out there. hth ~Moira

Kathy in Richmond
Not intending to hijack... but does the AP exam FRQ answer booklet come with wide ruled or just plain sheets for the students to write the answers? TIA I can only comment on past years. I still have a bunch of my kids' pink free response answer booklets on the shelf. For any subjects that required essays (English, Latin, Government, Economics), the students were provided with wide-ruled paper. For any problem-solving subjects (Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Comp Sci), the problem statement was repeated in the answer booklet followed by appropriately-sized blank spaces, graphs to fill in, etc. The Chemistry and Biology exam booklets had a mix of both wide-ruled paper essays and problem-solving sections. JoanHomeEd
Thank you Kathy in Richmond, it's good to know what to expect. Also previously I thought the student has to use pens for the Calculus and Chemistry Free Response Sections, but I just found out from the exam instructions that pens or pencils will work. Pens are only specifically mentioned for filling in personal information like names and dates. The exam instructions by subjects can be found here: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/ap/test-day/instructions
