melissel
:( There are little holes at the base of each chair seat. Our robo-ants have colonized them before, but I don't mind killing those buggers! And if we keep the chairs out of the grass, it doesn't happen. This time, they were just sitting on the patio. I'm glad I discovered it before we really started sitting out there much. What am I supposed to do about this? I don't want to kill them, but I also don't want to buy new patio chairs! Is there a way to convince them to vacate the premises without hurting them? TIA! Unicorn.
Can you call around and find out if there is a beekeeper in your area? Sometimes they will come and remove them for you.

laundrycrisis
If they are in fact honey bees, I would start calling bee keepers. They may be very happy to have them.
Kathleen in VA
Don't kill them!!!! Call a bee keeper and have him/her take them away. Honeybees are on the decline. This is an old article but the problem still persists: http://www.sciencedaily.com/videos/2007/0703-honeybee_decline.htm
