tuzor
store your books. I am collecting lots of educational books that cross all boundaries and are not tied in with any curriculum. I am wondering how best to store them or rather how should I organize them on a bookshelf. I was thinking of getting some sticker dots, placing those dots on books color coded by grade. Perhaps each grade could have a shelf. But on the other hand I like storing things by subject. So perhaps I could label each by subject and then place on shelf. Any input if you have pics please upload as well. Thanks.
Carrie12345
I just sort subjects by shelf. There's plenty of "younger" reading that could benefit my eldest and "older" reading that could benefit my youngers. I want them to grab whatever looks good!
Harriet Vane
I have a big bookcase that is divided into square cubbies. I sort by subject into the cubbies. Within the cubbies the books are also sorted by grade. If there are too many books to fit in just one cubby (like for literature) then the books are divided by both subject and grade. I have only two children, so it's not terribly complicated.

AngelBee
Okay so I understand dividing by subject what about picture books and chapter books that range in skill level? I don't. Too many variables. I did seperate by independent reads (chapter books) and read alouds. Picture books seperate too.
