WTMindy
Yesterday I went to a new hair-dresser and she had a stutter. I realized that I don't know if it is more polite to wait until she finishes the question before I answer or if I should help her when I know the question is so she doesn't have to continue to stutter unnecessarily. For example, she asked, "Do you have any ch-ch....." and she really struggled with that word. I knew she wanted to know if I have children. I waited for her to finish before answering, but should I have jumped in so she didn't have to struggle with the word? I don't want to be rude either way. Mom2legomaniacs
Don't interrupt. Just exude an aura of calm and patience and let her speak. Making someone more nervous by breaking in or "helping" will likely make them less at ease and feel more self-conscious about the issue. Just let her speak and then nicely answer when she is finished.

Jackie in AR
Yep, just wait patiently and then continue your end of the conversation.
