DawnM
I can't seem to get it to work. How do I get my library overdrive (I think that is the name) audiobooks to either my iphone or ipad? Any steps I seem to be missing? Thanks, Dawn
thescrappyhomeschooler
Are you doing this via a Mac? You have to make sure the items are compatible with Mac also or they won't work. I learned this the hard way while trying to get library stuff onto my iPod.
DawnM
yes, it is a Mac. I no longer have a PC, although I am taking my PC in to see if they can either repair it or pull everything off of it and put it on a new hard drive for me, so I may have one PC soon. How do you find out if it is Mac compatible?
thescrappyhomeschooler
My library catalog has little icons after the listed item to tell you what it is compatible with.
JFSinIL
Could you just go in and ask them to show you how to do it? Our library has been having seminars for folks to come in and find out how to get the library books onto their different devices.
DawnM
well, that would be my next step. The library is 23 miles r/t so I don't go often unless I am going that way or have to.
Beth in OH
It's not very easy. I just gave up :-(. Go to the overdrive website for instructions.
Missouri Okie
I have a Mac and an iPad. I tried to load Overdrive. I gave up. However, I know someone who has a Mac and an iPad and was successful! She said she had to go through the steps more than once.
DawnM
I have been trying for quite a while this evening and not using very nice words in the process! ARGH! I even tried YouTube but they only show you how to download directly to your device. THe books I have checked out say, "This title is not available for download directly to your device, you will need to download it to your computer and transfer it." ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! Julie Smith
If it's Overdrive you have you can get a APP on your ipad. Then go to whatever website you go to on your computer, but using your ipad. Then download it directly to your ipad. At least that is how my ipad is set up. DawnM
That app IS downloaded already! It still says I have to download it to my computer first! ARGH! DawnM
Ok, I was able to get one book on there, but I downloaded that directly. The others still say I need to download to computer and transfer. NO IDEA why. I am considering getting a membership to the Philadelphia Free Library as their audio and Kindle selection is MUCH better than our local library, but only if I can be sure I can actually download the stupid things!
