Joker
Our dog is getting over a bout of pancreatitis and I've just brought him back home. For now, the vet has him on a special kind of Science Diet canned food but I'm not a real fan of the brand. Everything I've read has said to do a low-fat dog food but what's a good brand? He eats Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish right now and it's dry food. Also, I've been reading about maybe doing a homemade food for him but really don't know where to start. So, any information about that would be helpful too.
fraidycat
I feed my animals Taste of the Wild - grain free diets - great for pets with allergies. It gets rave reviews online from animal lovers and our animals always have wonderful, healthy coats/body weights. Our one dog that we got came with "a vulnerability to ear infections", and ear drops, etc. Not once, did we have a problem with her ears on the TOTW food. ktgrok
Ask the vet about a homemade diet, many have books in the office with diets for various diseases. Definitely get a Low fat, inactive dog type food if you buy food. NOT a high protein, high fat one.
