Papillon Mom
I want to start my daughter volunteering. I'm thinking of a senior home to visit regularly. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Sputterduck
What about feeding the homeless? We feed a camp on migrants from Oaxaca here and my son is great at handing out forks and tortillas.
NicAnn
We go to the food bank once a month. Each week Dd gets $10 to pick out food at the store, and then at the end of the month we pack it up and donate it. I think it's important to do something that is related to you. In the past, we've needed to visit the food bank during lean times, so to me this is a way to give back. If your DD has a particular interest in babies, maybe she can donate to a crisis center, if she loves animals, maybe she can clean cages at the cat rescue center or you two can walk dogs for the elderly. NanceXToo
Go on walks and bring a trash bag so you can clean up trash in your community. Deliver Meals on Wheels together. Make cards and pictures for hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Start a correspondence with deployed troops and she can make pictures and help make care packages. See if she can visit with someone on a nursing home or vet's hospital.

LAS in LA
Our local food bank has a community garden where we've starting volunteering. The food grown all goes to the food bank.
