TheAutumnOak
What will you use in 7th grade or when it ends?...I would set up a poll, but I am not aware of enough options to use as choices :001_unsure:
Aurelia
Right now, I think we will end up using AoPS. We still have a way to go, though, and it's likely to change.
HiddenJewel
BJU Fundamentals of Math or Pre-algebra then VideoText Algebra Module B-F.
hollyhock
I would like to use an integrated math so I am thinking either MEP or Singapore DM. But who knows. I still have 2 years to decide. :)
LisaKinVA
My daughter will be doing Life of Fred decimals/percents & fractions, then Pre-Algebra 1 with Biology and Pre-Algebra 2 with Economics. If she needs more than that, I'm probably going with Chalkdust Pre-Algebra for her (or something similar). For my younger son, he'll do Fred and probably an on-line/computer-based course, unless his writing improves a lot.
....
I "think" AoPS Pre-Algebra. But, I'm checking out Saxon...and eventually Lial's and Foerster's Algebra... In other words, I have no idea.
5Wizards
I think I might go with this for Pre-algebra, but I still have 1 1/2 years to look around. After that, I'm not sure. http://www.lucideducation.com/Prealgebra.php
wapiti
Some additional options: Dolciani (the '85/'88 text and TM are not difficult to obtain) Russian Math 6 A student who does well with MM should be well prepared for any prealgebra. Maria Miller has a list of some recommendations on her website. (We are using AoPS Prealgebra)

mazakaal
My 13yo has just started Lial's Algebra right now, and so far it's going well. I expect that I'll have my other kids use it as well starting with BCM after they finish with MM.
Haiku
Not sure what I'll do immediately after MM6B, but eventually we will end up at VideoText Algebra. Tara
foxbridgeacademy
We're using MM blue series and DS will be done this summer so for 6th grade I think we're going to use AoPS or LOF Pre-Algebra maybe both? I've looked at BCM and Lials(I think that's the one) and I have to say I think I like AoPS better. I already have a Pre-Algebra textbook from Prentice Hall but I don't like it. bcnlvr
We are currently on 5B. After MM6, we'll do MUS Algebra & Patty Paper Geometry (together) for one year and then on to Foerster Alg OR AoPS Alg. My ds is only 10, so I will be spending a lot of time (2+ years) making sure he is completely solid in Algebra. I am not sure of the actual algebra for the 2nd year because of his current age/developmental level. He frustrates easily with discovery math right now but devours mathematical concepts/algorithms. Once he understands the concepts, he is off to the races. Methinks his age/maturity has something to do with that and so will take a wait-and-see approach.
