Rosie_0801
We were listening to 'Dot and the Kangaroo' from Librivox today and none of the American readers pronounced either of these correctly. g-LAH (- being a schwa) Kookaburra does not have a long oo like moon but short like foot. Oh, and our possums don't have o's. Perhaps they are spelled that way by the original author though; I haven't seen the original book, only the cute cartoon version. Speaking of cute cartoon versions, I love ! You might as well learn something really important while waiting for Imp's birth announcement. Sorry I was unable to include kits. They didn't match the theme. Feel free to post pics of hot Aussies, but don't include Russell Crowe. He really doesn't do it for me... Melissa in Australia
You should hear how my Canadian DH tries to pronounce kookaburras! Has everyone in hysterics
LaxMom
I will tuck that in my pocket in case I ever run into either. :) Our possums are just possums, too. My spell-check didn't even try to add the o.

And a possum is a much different animal from an Opossum.
