Plucky
How do we properly use these terms in a college paper? I know the way we do it here online isn't right, it's more homeschool culture oriented. What is the right way? Thanks!
JennyD
I doubt that there's much of a consensus across the academy, but you might take a look at the online excerpts from this book, put out by Princeton University Press. http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Children-Controversy-Homeschooling-Princeton/dp/0691114684/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320350115&sr=8-
Hen
not an academic, but I would think you could use it as you would use the term public school or private school- just switch it out. saying that, I prefer it as one word :)

twoforjoy
Actually, I'm pretty sure the standard is one word. I've read a couple of more academic-type books on homeschooling, and both used "homeschool" and "homeschooling." As long as you use whatever term you use consistently, you should be fine.
