AimeeM
What is the difference? Is one edition more difficult than the other? I know that standards introduces negative numbers earlier than the US edition; but, other than that, would you consider one more challenging than the other? wapiti
There have been lots of threads on this question. Here are a few: Singapore Math- U.S. vs. Standards Edition Singapore US edition or US Standards? Singapore - Standards edition vs US edition Has anyone switched from Singapore Primary U.S. to the new Standards edition? Singapore Standards beats out US Ed? Tell me why you chose SM US ed over SM Standards or vice versa
jplain
Most who've looked at both say the biggest difference is that the Home Instructor's Guide for the Standards edition is a significant improvement over the HIGs for the US edition. Also, the Intensive Practice books were produced to go along with the US edition; there are no Standards editions of the IP books. But many have posted that they use the IP books with the Standards editions with no problems.
MamaHappy
The textbooks for the Standards Ed. are all in color. There is more built in review in the Standards. The HIGs for the Standards are *much* better than the US Ed. One is not more challenging than the other since they are both "Singapore math", but some of the topics are arranged differently in the Standards. mommyto4
I like the extra review in the Standards workbooks. It really makes it easier for me as I am not searching for online worksheets as often. I also like the look and feel of the Standards. We used the US edition last year and liked it, but I am very pleased with our switch to the Standards.

Do you mind to tell me if you are using the Standards or US edition? I know HOD recommends and schedules the US edition. If you are using the Standards edition I'm curious if you can still reasonably follow the HOD lesson plans. I'm moving both my boys to Singapore so I'm curious about all this. TIA!
