CookIslandsMommy
Hi there, Does anyone have any good books or resources that may fit into doing a study on Christian music composers that is suitable for Grade 2 age level? Thanks heaps! :001_smile: The Carters
FO4UR
Are you looking for classical composers (like Handel or Bach) or hymn writers? (Fanny Crosby or Charles Wesley)
momacacia
:bigear: Hymn Histories? But it's only about hymns, not necessarily folks like Bach. His Sacred Songs are a beautiful devotional book in themselves.
LAS in LA
A Gift of Music by Jane Stuart Smith and Betty Carlson might be helpful for a parent to read and then read or tell to a 2nd grader.
Aloha2U
Well, I remember someone mentioning the following and found them interesting enough to add them to my wishlist. Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers The Composers' Specials 6 DVD Collector's Set HTH! :001_smile:
Jay3fer
I'm assuming you've seen the Color the Godly Composers CDs and books at Rainbow? Seems to obvious a connection for you to have missed... :-) We like the Great Composers colouring book, but didn't get the Godly ones because we're not Christian (="ungodly"? :-)))). tuesdayschild
Hi there, Does anyone have any good books or resources that may fit into doing a study on Christian music composers that is suitable for Grade 2 age level? Thanks heaps! :001_smile: The Carters I really enjoy what we are currently using - though it is not all christian composers - it's only hymn lyricists and composers. We are using Stories of the Great Hymns, Amazing Grace ... Illustrated Stories, and you tube plus etc (linked up in this blog post). Hope you find something that works for you. Love to read what you eventually decide on. ETA: I misread your question :) Edited October 23, 2011 by tuesdayschild
Aloha2U
Btw, if you are looking for classical composers... I also think that HTTA's "Composers" Lap Book looks interesting and fun, though not necessarily just Christian composers.
