gingersmom
Do 6th graders lose brain cells at a faster rate than any other grade? Is it just a boy thing? It took 3 tries this morning to finish the science review questions. Now it is taking 3 tries to get through English. I sent him into the bagel store this morning for a plain bagel and he returned with a bagel with butter. :glare: Am I losing my mind?:banghead:
SilverMoon
Yes, in my experience. I don't know, yet, but my oldest girl hasn't been a sixth grader for very long. You might. :tongue_smilie:
AK_Mom4
I noticed that the "distraction factor" goes up around this age. Easily distracted, difficulty focusing. Exercise seemed to help here, as did eating a good breakfast.

1bassoon
Yes. After that, they get much more - together, or something. Gah. Just realized I'll have another 6th grader next year. :glare:
happyhomemaker25
It started around 4th grade here and does not seem to be getting a whole lot better. :glare:
higginszoo
Something about the hormones kicking in ... the middle school years are so frustrating. I just sent all three of mine to my parents for a week and am enjoying not having to bang my head against a brick wall. unfortunately, that leaves my raging extrovert with nobody to talk to ... pooh bear
My ds, 11, is loosing brain cells left and right here. Why is it that he can remember what he had for dinner two weeks ago, but ask him to tell you what a noun is  is the look I get? As my granddad used to say "When they were handing out brains, you thought they said trains, so asked for a slow one."
