krisperry
Do you know if these are the same book? http://www.sonlight.com/BH05.html and http://www.amazon.com/Peoples-World-Internet-Linked-Cultures/dp/0794510256/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314037866&sr=1-1 TIA! Mommy22alyns
As far as I can remember, the one on SL's page did not have any internet links, so they're different books. Or at least different editions.
Carrie75
I have the Sonlight version and the only difference I can see, besides the different cover image, is the Sonlight one is not "internet linked," and the amazon one looks like it is. WeeBeaks
I own the Amazon one you linked. I don't own the Sonlight one though. I did use the internet linked with that core though. I'm not sure if I adapted it or if the book changed though as I did B a while ago.
amayla
We just started Core B here. We have the Sonlight book. I am not impressed with it. The one from Sonlight is very outdated in my opinion. There is also a page on Evolution, which is left out of the reading schedule, but my son still wanted to read that page. He is immature (at 6) and thinks the naked pictures are amusing. This is most definitely not a book I would have bought on my own. I hope the book on amazon is an updated edition! :)
Donna T.
I have both of these books and they are quite different. It's not just that one has Internet links and the other doesn't. In mine, the text is different, too. The newer one has photographs but the older one has drawings. I like the newer one (the one from the bottom link on your post) but I absolutely detest (it's just ugly) the other one (the one at the SL website). When we used SL B (I believe my guide was the 2001 edition) the book was just scheduled a couple of pages a day as a read-aloud, there were no activities or anything extra related to it. So, it would have been easy to substitute the newer book for the older one and that's what I would have done had it been updated at that time. I'm not sure if it matters with the newer SL guides. mschickie
We used the one on the Sonlight site. Dd loved the book. I liked the drawings in it and think I would prefer that to photos. It maybe that Sonight is just shipping the one out until they run out and then they will be shipping the new one.
warneral
FWIW we did NOT like the Sonlight Peoples of the World. We skimmed it quickly - did not like the format.
krisperry
Wow, thanks everyone! Extremely helpful. (I think we will go with the one from Amazon ;))
