EKS
If I wanted to do world history in one year with a kid that age, I'd use A Child's History of the World.
Mrs Twain
CHOW would be great, I agree. We used it last year and loved it. There is also a workbook that goes along with it that Calvert puts out (which they use for fourth grade). I am going to use Builders of the Old World +/- A Little History of the World this year. Zoo Keeper
This past year we finished up the last few chapters of SOTW 2 (and used corresponding CHOW chapters as extra reading) and then used just CHOW for the rest of the year to do a quick run through of history. Both my 3rd and 2nd grader loved it.
sbgrace
I plan to use A Child's History of the World at that age. I think Heart of Dakota does an overview in 3rd grade using CHOW. HOD of course has a Christian slant and wouldn't be useful for secular approaches.
SnMomof7
Yep, we will be this fall. I'm using SL 1+2 (now B+C)..might take us more than a year though :).
mama25angels
Thanks ladies, I guess i'll need to find a used copy of CHOW
sbgrace
Thanks ladies, I guess i'll need to find a used copy of CHOW Old copies might have the original language that included some racist wording. Someone republished and took out the offensive language. I'd try to get a copy of the book with the publication date Sonlight uses.
