How do you cook bacon in the oven?

Recommended Posts

Here is what I do....

Take a half sheet pan or just whatever cookie sheet you have and place a cooling rack on top of that. Then place the bacon on the rack. I start bacon always in a cold oven and set the temp. at 400. As for baking time...I just keep an eye on it...ovens vary so much and it even depends on the thickness of the bacon. I also flip about half way through...though you could probably skip it, because the rack keeps the heat flowing all around the bacon.

Good luck. :)

Same here, except I lay it out on the broiler pan so the fat can drip down away from the cooking bacon. If you use turkey bacon this wouldn't be a problem, but it is with the regular stuff. It sure beats cleaning a grease-splattered stove!

Regular bacon also takes longer to cook. About 30 min or so to nicely crisp bacon.
