battlemaiden
Google has failed to give me a clear consensus. Take bacon..... foil? preheat versus cold oven? I can manage this on my own, but I figure you all can save me some time. Thanks. Jo
Soph the vet
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lay bacon in individual strips on cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 for precooked or turkey bacon, probably much longer with flipping for raw pork bacon. I do all our bacon this way, less greasy.:001_smile:
OnTheBrink
I do the same as Soph, but I use a broiler pan so the grease drains away. I just cook it till it's done. I don't know how long. LOL
E_Edgerton
Here is what I do.... Take a half sheet pan or just whatever cookie sheet you have and place a cooling rack on top of that. Then place the bacon on the rack. I start bacon always in a cold oven and set the temp. at 400. As for baking time...I just keep an eye on it...ovens vary so much and it even depends on the thickness of the bacon. I also flip about half way through...though you could probably skip it, because the rack keeps the heat flowing all around the bacon. Good luck. :)
percytruffle
Same here, except I lay it out on the broiler pan so the fat can drip down away from the cooking bacon. If you use turkey bacon this wouldn't be a problem, but it is with the regular stuff. It sure beats cleaning a grease-splattered stove! Regular bacon also takes longer to cook. About 30 min or so to nicely crisp bacon.

Mrs. Readsalot
I cook bacon in the oven just like this video except I also use a cooling rack in the cookie sheet to keep the bacon out of the grease. http://www.associatedcontent.com/video/3408/how_to_cook_the_perfect_bacon_in_your.html?cat=
