Pata
I wouldn't miss Number the Stars-probably for dd9. I'm not familiar with the rest, so I'm not sure what to say for ds11.
krommama
I read Number the Stars this past fall to my then ds12 and dd9. It was a really good book. My daughter enjoyed it, but I'm not so sure if my son liked it.
Miss Marple
Escape from Warsaw and A Father's Promise are great boy books. I would give your son the choice. My boys groaned through Number the Stars probably because it had a young girl on the cover and they "don't read girl books" (this was years ago). I haven't seen the last 2 on your list. Zoo Keeper
We just did WWII last week and my nine year old loved Snow Treasure.
Murmer
I vote Number of the Stars and Snow Treasure. Snow Treasure has a male main character and an adventure type story line.
creekmom
Thank you!! I think I'll have my dd read Number the Stars and let my ds choose one from the list. (I'll definitely add Snow Treasure- I forgot all about it!) I wish we had more time to spend on these great novels!

kolamum
Number The Stars and if I didn't use that I'd use I am David. But I'd go with the NTS first. :D
