3byzaz
I shouldn't have read through soooo many advanced plans, now I think mine is 'easy' for my ds. He is very bright, so I hope I am challenging him enough...I was just working on it earlier. Bible, History, English - MFW AHL - 3 CREDITS (He also reads a LOT - so will probably add in some Classic Lit/Great Books) Math - Finish TT Alg 1 & LOF Beg. Alg or right to next TT - 1 CREDIT Science - Chemistry at Co-op - 1 CREDIT For. Lang - Probably Visual Link Spanish - 1 CREDIT Electives - Not sure exactly how this will look officially, but this is the plan: Intro to Logic - MFW - Already did these this year - 1/2 credit Speech & Debate - at Co-op - will probably make this cumulative after 2 yrs. - 1/2 credit OR may just be an extracurricular/club Music - takes piano and guitar and will be in church worship band - also probably cumulative - 1/2 credit over time. Art - Bought Meet the Masters - hope to get to this?? Would be light and spread out and cumulative also--like 1/4 yr totaling 1 by 12th or 1/2 total? PE - will make cumulative also - 1/4 - 1 credit by 12th?? Extracurricular/Clubs: YMCA Youth & Gov't - Speech & Debate? Extra - English from Roots Up Vol 2 & SAT Prep from MFW - want to start this earlier than later and work on slowly. Hope I've covered everything. This boy works quickly, luckily, and most of this is just part of normal life and stuff we already do. Will be looking for volunteer/service opportunities also - probably some tech at church?! Susan C.
Algebra 2 ~ Still on the fence about curriculum. After a year of BJU Geometry (loved it!), we will take a quick run through Algebra 1 this summer to review before moving on to Algebra 2. BJU Algebra 2 looks like it may be difficult for dd. I may finish up Videotext since I own it and looks like she can get through it. Dd just finished BJU Algebra 2 (online dvd option), and ds did it four years ago. Both really liked the course. The teacher does a good job of reviewing algebra concepts too.
