Joanne
I used Forrest Gump for US History when we studied the 50's, 60's, and 70's. What are some options for World History? ETA: High school in the title. Edited April 18, 2011 by Joanne
leeannpal
One of my favorite for Roman Times is Ben Hur. There are a few scenes that might be rough for those under 8 or 9.
Hen
we just watched a Dr. Who that dealt with Pompeii, yeah- a stretch, but it really captured my kids' imagination. There is a wishbone episode for The Odyssey- it was really good, and funny at times. They had the whole thing with the marriage bed correct. Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. all of my pics are pretty low-brow... we've watched a few netflix documentaries, there was a great one on the great wall of China. I love how they have Braveheart on the opening page. That move is, historically, a nightmare. lol But still, sometimes films help jumpstart an interest. www.vernonjohns.org/snuffy1186/movies.html Edited April 18, 2011 by LibraryLover
Chris in VA
See if you can find The Scarlet and The Black for an entertaining film (actually a TV movie, I think) about Nazi resistance in the Vatican.
