Gamom3
ds's book for next year and I am going to have to get a 4" binder!! I purchased a 3" thinking that it would work, but it's to small. I can not believe a 4" is $18 +
Brindee
Yeah, aren't the prices crazy? What book are you doing?
Mom2GirlsTX
$18 for a 4"...wow! Prices are totally insane! I wonder about Goodwill, they sometimes get those from businesses. DH says where he works they throw the out like crazy, heavy duty ones.
hsmom
I buy them in bulk at Sam's club. It seem pricey at the time, but in the long run it saves me money.
happygrrl
I go to Costco..... 4" Binders (for TOG) are $5... a box of PP's (225) is a little under $10. With TOG yr. 2 I *had* to shop around... I used over 4 boxes of protectors!:tongue_smilie:
Pegasus
See if you have any government auctions near-by. I've picked up entire boxes of large binders for $2 at these things. Also, try asking for free binders on Freecycle. Lots of business offices throw them out regularly so put out the word to any office workers you know. Gamom3
Yeah, aren't the prices crazy? What book are you doing? Chalkdust Pre-Algebra. The lady I got if from had removed the pages(Student and TM) from the binding and hole punched. I plan on using this with dd in a few years and I know how hard it is to keep the pages in good condition...especially when they are loose! summer
Maybe you could put them in 2 separate binders. That would help preserve them longer because the pages would only be out half the time.
Suzanne in ABQ
That was my thought. Is there any reason why you need to have ALL the pages in the binder at the same time? Could you put the second half in a box or another binder until you need them?
Amy in Orlando
I *heart* page protectors, but they increase the volume tremendously. I split the book or workbook in two. My kids do much better with smaller binders.
Gamom3
I didn't even think about it. When ds looked at the book, he said he didn't want to do that math! I think y'all are right, I will put them in separate binders, so it doesn't look so scary! Thanks!!
