Dmmetler
DD is at the start of SM 3A, and I notice that fractions are in our future pretty heavily. At what point in SM would be a good time to add LoF fractions? It sounds like her kind of book.
Karenciavo
We're starting when ds8 finishes 4B in the next week or so. Even with going that far into Singapore I'll still have to teach him division by 2 digits divisors.
nmoira
Schmidt's only stated requirement is the ability to long division and to know basic math facts. We started just after doing long division by 10's in 4A. Before starting LOF, I did a quick lesson with DD the elder using multi-digit numbers other than 10. Dmmetler
Ok-so I don't have to worry about it for a while yet ;).
Jen in PA
I started it with my son when we finished 4B. There is a lot of overlap using it with 5A, but that's not a bad thing because the approach is different and you can use SM for extra practice (if needed). If not, then you can go quickly through those sections. This is what we did, too.
Embassy
I'm planning on trying it out at the Singapore late 2 and early 4 levels with my boys. They do well with learning math concepts in a whole to part fashion so I'm going to try adding it to our living math books line-up next school year.
