yvonne
Is anyone using Latin for the New Millennium for Gr. 6+? How is it going? Besides seeming substantive, clear, and sequential, it looks just beautiful. I love the inclusion of history and mythology. (But I'm only looking at the samples.....) Thanks for any thoughts! yvonne

PeterPan
I think I have my LNM for sale on the sale boards. I like it a lot, and bought it hoping it would help my dd bridge from the grammar we had already covered in the LC books and some Latin Prep. She loves history, so the interesting readings, etc. would have been perfect. Unfortunately, I think we've hit a wall in our latin because of the dyslexia, and we've dropped latin entirely. LNM really is as gorgeous as the online samples imply, and I think you could be very happy with it. Definitely it needs that upper age (6th+) or an extremely capable student. It makes Cambridge look like K5. It's just like the samples you see online, so if your take is that it is a good fit for your student, it probably will be. NancyNellen
I am using this with 7th and 8th graders this year. It is beautiful - we all love the inclusion of history/mythology. It is HARD, so I would encourage you to go nice and slow. We will complete LftNM I in 2 years. I have the kids do all the text and workbooks exercises, finishing a chapter every 2-3 weeks. We frequently have to go back and solidify the concepts, redoing some of the exercises. All in all, I am happy with it. I wish I knew more Latin so I didn't feel clueless a lot of the time (but that isn't the program's fault :-) Let me know if you have any more specific questions.
