We didn't have them move all of our stuff from the pc to the mac (I think it is included when you buy a mac) so I am not sure if they can do this in a short time or if you would have to leave it with them overnight or something. By the time he got there they greeted him at the door by name and helped him to the car with his boxes. He got back to his office, plugged it in and was ready to go. I have never had to verify my homeschool status for online orders, but I am no help for requirements in store. If you thought it might be an issue you could always order online and still have it pretty quick. We ordered our iMac online and we had it in 2 days with the free shipping.
