angela in ohio
:bigear: This will be us next year, too. I'd love to hear some been-there-done-that experiences!!
Tullia
Our choice; CC. Other options we considered were Chalkdust or Lials. Today, I'd add AoPs to the list. -- Martha
Leanna Tomlinson
My ds 16, who thrived with VT algebra, moved on to Jacob's Geometry, and then Chalkdust Pre-Calc. I don't know if the end of VT Geometry includes some Pre-Calc or not. Even ds liked VT, he likes Chaldust even more. He says Dana Mosely explains everything so thoroughly that he just doesn't have many questions. After thriving with Chakdust Pre-Calc, Ds is doing well now in Chalkdust Calculus as a junior. This is a math oriented student.

I appreciate the feedback :) Blessings, kathi

Tullia
I have never heard of Lials,CC or AoPs....can you post a link? Thanks so much!! Kathi Oops...got carried away with the acronyms. CC--community college. Ds took a college algebra course in 12th grade when the local CC started offering a few evening courses at our local middle school. The folks at VT were so helpful in getting pre-publication materials to my son, so he finished all but the last module of VT Geometry and then took the CC class. For the longest time I thought s/o meant "seeking opinions". :D
mom26
Where did you all purchase Chalkdust for a reasonable price? I have not seen it used in the upper levels? Thanks! Kathi Edited February 7, 2011 by mom26
