Jan in SC
We are attending a homeschool party tomorrow and I just realized that I need to take 4 dozen cookies! Ack!!! Any great cookie ideas and recipes? I don't love cooking, but I don't mind baking. My cooking vocabulary is quite limited, so simple is awesome! Thanks! :D
MariannNOVA
Someone here directed me to Pioneer Woman's blog and there were great tutorials and links to other places with easy but fabulous ideas (I firmly believe that 90% of the WOW is in the presentation). And, I found great and really easy cookie ideas on CHOWHOUND last night. HTH
i.love.lucy
My fav new thing is where you make cookies from a cake mix. One box of cake mix 3/4 c oatmeal (quick rolled oats) 2/3 c choc chips 1/2 c oil 2 eggs Drop by tablespoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Makes 3 dozen! I have made German chocolate with the german choc cake mix, 1/2 c coconut, 1/2 c pecans added in. I made white chocolate spice where I used a spice cake mix and subbed the chips for white choc ones. And get this, I also made orange dark chocolate. Orange supreme cake mix, 1/2 tsp orange zest (to really make it orangey) and dark choc chips. My husband FLIPPED over these. Next up, red velvet with white and dark choc chips! :tongue_smilie: When you change things up the main ingredients of cake mix, oats, oil and eggs stay the same every time. Jan in SC
Thanks! I'm heading there now. (I'm going to look, but I really hope my dh will walk in the door and offer to bake them while I go to the bookstore!)

I love the red velvet idea, but I wouldn't want to share them!
Dianne-TX
This recipe is not only the best of everything cookie, but it makes A LOT! We make these every year at Christmas time. http://www.christmas-cookies.com/recipes/recipe524.laura-bushs-cowboy-cookies.html ETA: I don't make them as large as the recipe picture shows and get more out of the mix. Vida Winter
After making several varieties of cookies over the past week, the easiest ones turned out to be everyone's favorite: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/no-bake-cookies-i/Detail.aspx if bringing these to a group gathering make sure people know there is peanut butter in the recipe.
