Something cute in these bewildering times

I've had a stomach flu that put me out of commission for several days. I haven't been mothering my children lately, so this afternoon I've been doing some catch-up snuggles.

 

One of my (almost) four year olds asks, "Mommy, when I am four years old soon, can I still sit on your lap?"

 

"Yes, Sweetie, you will still sit on my lap."

 

Reflective pause. "Mommy? When I am five years old, can I still sit on your lap?"

 

"Yes, you will still sit on my lap."

 

More thought, then, "Mommy? When I am twenty years old, can I still sit on your lap?"

 

"Well, I think that when you are twenty, you might be too big to fit on my lap, but you can sit next to me and we'll still snuggle if you need it."

 

Eager response: "Oh, Mommy, I think that you will need me to snuggle with you when I am twenty!" :001_wub:

My 13.5 year old still comes and sits on my lap to snuggle occassionally. Unfortunately, he weighs so much it doesn't last long.
