Joker
Good friends of ours are in the process of adopting their first child. She is 11, almost 12, and has been in foster care for about two years. We don't know all the details. We know her father died and her mother gave her up but we don't know why. They've met her several times and had her for the weekend and they said there's been no abuse. They've already been given gift cards to take her shopping and get things so we would like to do something different. She will become an official part of their family in about a month. Any ideas? Jen in PA
Maybe gift cards for outings rather than physical things? I was thinking of ones that might cover the movies, Color Me Mine, museum passes, that sort of thing.
Anne
If she's been in foster care, she may need new clothes, or her new mom might like to be able to take her shopping. Maybe a gift card at a store frequented by local pre-teens? Anne
