mo2
Is there such a thing? All the ones I have seen are Christian based.
JFSinIL
Building Thinking Skills books, Critical Thinking Skills - these are secular. From the Critical Thinking Co. They offer lots of stuff.
Sunshine State Sue
We've used MindBenders, Dandylion Logic, and Perplexors. All secular. I'm investigating The Art of Argument next for 7th grade.
runningirl71
I have a question and thought I would post it on this thread since it is about Logic. I hope that is okay. :) I am working through Mindbenders A1-A4 with my 4th grade daughter and wondering if Mindbenders B1-B4 is what we should study next for 5th grade. It seems that in TWTM it says the "B's" were optional. What would be good for a 5th grader? I like a fun more laid back approach to logic study. Otherwise, it doesn't get done! SheilaZ
Thank you Sue for that link. That looks like the program that I've been looking for.
Peela
Art of Argument is good, but I am secular and I find the Fallacy Detective and Thinking Toolbox very useable. The authors have a strong Christian bias, but it stands out like a sore thumb when it does come out, and it actually doesn't make any difference for most of the book- just here and there. And they have a good sense of humour.
Jenny in Atl
We are going to use The Book of Think for 7th and then Intro to Logic by Copi for 8th. But are secular. hth's
