Mom in High Heels
My mom bought me one for Christmas and it arrived today! She said I could go ahead and have it (like I could have waited until Christmas to open it) and it is FABULOUS!!!! I've already downloaded tons of free books and even a few that I paid for. When I opened the box, the screen had a note on it that told you to plug it in to the computer. It took me about 5 minute to figure out that it was actually on the screen and NOT a piece of paper that I needed to peel off! The e-ink technology is awesome! Of course I felt incredibly stupid once I realized it wasn't a piece of paper, but whatever. I loves my Kindle!

Forget-Me-Not
Congrats! And you're not the only one who was puzzled by the note on the screen when you opened the box!
C_l_e_0..Q_c
Got mine a few weeks ago, not long at all! However, I tried a few e-ink gadgets before, and was not taken aback by the note. I don't even remember a note! LOL... Yeah, many free classics, it's great!

Jennifer3141
Congrats!!! I am excited for you! I cannot decide upon the kindle or the ipad thingie. Most of my reading is in bed and my eyes are terrible. But it would be nice to take to the park too. Hmmm... More research!
Mom in High Heels
Okay, I've now had it for about 3 days and I LOVE it. I've already finished a book and a half and I really like being able to look up words while I read. I know what the words mean by their context, but it's still nice to be able to look up the actual definition to make sure. I've had absolutely no eye strain, which is amazing. I like that I can change the the size of the font if my eyes are tired. Dh got one as well and keeps going on about how much the screen looks like paper. My neighbor has a Sony e-reader (it's about a year and a half old) and after seeing my Kindle decided she needs an upgrade.
