Jan in SC
Ok- The year has started and with a little tweaking, I'm fairly happy with our schedule. Sadly, science is a flop! I have three boys in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Is there anything like SOTW out there for science? I tried Apologia Zoology 2, but they would rather read the book quickly and move on to a different subject. I would love to find something that has worksheets/ coloring sheets to use while I am reading the text. (I'm sure I'm not doing something right!!!) Just to help you, our other hits have been: MCT, SOTW II, WWE combo w/ Brave Writer, and our memory work/ logic warm-up time. Thanks for any advice! Wheres Toto
REAL Science Odyssey has a lot of coloring sheets that can be done during readings and lots of experiments. Intellego Unit studies have a lot of internet links to videos and demonstration so if your kids are very visual, they may enjoy those. Btw, both of these are secular. Laura W.
Some ideas: Considering God's Creation - has lots of worksheets, cut-and-paste type things, and smaller lessons Home Science Adventures - this is almost completely hands-on; most of the teaching is done as you're doing the worksheets/projects Story Book of Science - really quite engaging and covering a nice variety of topics. You'd have to search out coloring pages or worksheets to go along. Blessings, Laura
SailorMom
My sons only tolerate the reading part of science if they know an experiment is usually following what they learn.... You could probably download free printables for them to color - but also bribe them with experiments!
