HappyGrace
I don't see many posts about it. I do see that people don't like the BJU Pre-calc. How about Pre-Alg, Alg, Geom, Alg 2? This would be WITH the DVDs. I'm also considering Lial's and Foerster's (with Jacobs for Geom), but we're non mathy here so I wonder if the BJU would be more hand-holding for us. We're looking quite a bit ahead, but if BJU with dvd's is good, I might switch dd into it at 7th grade and then just continue the sequence. Thanks! Mom0012
I've been looking ahead for my son as well and BJU's dvd program is one I am considering. Jann in TX said it was an excellent program, but that you must use the dvds. Lisa
Michelle in GA
The general consensus as far as I have gathered has been this: BJU Algebra 1 and 2 are both very good in terms of instruction and rigor. The Geometry and Pre-Calculus books are to be avoided at all costs.
Susan C.
Geometry is good, a new edition and different teacher (the same one as Algebra 1). I have done Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Very good and plenty of hand-holding.
Cinder
Well, how's this: Ds1's private school uses BJU pre-algebra through alg 2. Then they switch to Prentice-Hall for pre-calc. I hadn't thought to ask the reason for the switch, though. Cinder
