littlebug42 Posted August 12, 2010 Share Posted August 12, 2010 So, I have mentioned on here before how great my medical transcription job is and today found out that the hospital I work for is moving to voice recognition software and 5-10 people are being laid off next week. Unfortunately for me, I am near the bottom of the seniority totem pole so I am most likely out the door. We are already iffy financially and this is just bad news all around. I will not be able to find another job with the same money/benefits and all I really want to do is cry right now. I have to hold it together today as my oldest daughter has heard my phone discussions about it this morning and is freaked out already. The other really bad thing about it is that my sister works for the same hospital as MT and her job is in danger as well. She is a single Mom that lives with my Mom and they may truly lose everything. Her deadbeat ex-h pays her nothing in child support so that is no help at all. I need one of those head banging smilies. Fortunately, my kids are going swimming with my Mom this afternoon so I can let it all out then. MY dh has it figured out that we will probably be OK if we can borrow some money from his Mom to pay off some looming debt.
