HappyGrace
You really need to get these books if you don't have them-so much fun learning! Dd10 loves them and I was thinking today that I could seriously make a whole school year out of using these as jumping off points if I had to-it's all there; history, sci, math, trivia-all in a fun way! I assume the boy one is just as good (Dangerous Book for Boys). If we weren't lined up for TOG this year, I think I'd do it! :)
Melinda TX
A couple of years ago our co-op offered a class "The Dangerous Book for Boys". It was my son's favorite class! The gal teaching it really went out of her way to select the best activities from the book.
scrapbabe
What a fun idea! I've been wanting to start a club for my boys! Oh, I've got to get my hands on this book! Smiles, Shalynn
LunaLee
Thames & Kosmos makes science kits to go with the boys' books. I don't know about the girls' though.
kelouis75
We really liked that book, too! After checking it out from the library, I really thought about buying it and then got sidetracked. Thanks for bringing it up.
HappyGrace
I got myself so excited about it that I might try to pick some activities to do on some Saturdays, or Sundays as a family thing!
oldskool
Great idea! i have the books and never thought to use the activities as part of our school day. Good timing too because I was just sitting here trying to think up creative activities to do in school this year. :) Lesley
BridgeTea
We have both the Boys' and Girls' versions of these books, and they were used almost exclusively for our first 6 months of homeschooling (DD was 9 at the time) while I was researching what else to use for her. The first thing she did was request a swiss army knife and all the other recommended must-haves. :) She still spends time with them on the weekends or if she's bored. I was happy I bought them! knit247
I agree! My oldest DD (almost 9) has her DBfG at her side constantly (like every single day for at least 18 mos now). She has learned so, so much from that book! I just can't wait until my younger Dd is ready for her own copy!
Mimm
Thanks for the idea. I bought the boy's version for my 16 year old brother when he was younger. I can see my girls, especially my 9 year old, really getting into these books. She's a very active, hands on, avidly curious person. Going to have to order these from Amazon right now. :)
momto2Cs
Now I'm thinking of throwing future plans out the window! I bet my kids would REALLY love a curriculum based off these in a couple of years...

HappyGrace
W The first thing she did was request a swiss army knife Yes, that was all dd wanted for Christmas after reading the book! We ended up getting her a beautiful vintage Girl Scout utility knife-she loves it! Have fun everyone!
