4kids4me
I'm there for a day, and have a variety of excursions to choose from, but am unfamiliar with the sites.
readwithem
St. Marks Square Find a mask painter and watch them work - fascinating intricate detail Take a gondola ride - cheesy but fun and a great way to see the entire place Take the boat to Murano and watch the glass blowers
Vida Winter
it was the highlight of my trip to Venice. I want to go back so badly!
4kids4me
Guggenheim Museum isn't one of the options, but a gondola ride, the Murano Glass Factory and San Giorgio is. I think I'll do that one. Thanks!
Mrs Mungo
Guggenheim Museum isn't one of the options, but a gondola ride, the Murano Glass Factory and San Giorgio is. I think I'll do that one. Thanks! Make sure you get to see the Bridge of Sighs on your gondola ride!
Stacia
Don't forget to eat a gelatto (or 2, or 3, ...)! Yum. :D (Oh, and all the other suggestions are good too.)
Tracey in TX
Santa Maria della Saluta. We went to a violin recital there and Mass another day. You can take a water taxi in lieu of gondola ride for much less $. I strongly suggest getting 'lost' in Venice. You can't actually get lost b/c it's a small island. I've been twice and that's my favorite memory from both times.
Colleen
Everyone mills about at St. Mark's Square. Meander beyond that so you aren't confined to hanging only with other tourists.:)
Just a Jen in Mississippi
Hey Girl! What are you doing in Venice?? I had no idea you were going! I hope you are enjoying yourself! I'm jealous!:tongue_smilie: ((hugs))
