motherdear
I especially enjoy "old" movies as they tend to be more accurate.

swimmermom3
The Lion in Winter when you get to Eleanor of Aquataine. Yes, they can be more accurate so prescreen if you need to.
Farrar
Actually, I don't think the age of the movie necessarily indicates how historically accurate the representation is. There are exceptions, but older movies tend to leave out the sex and violence. Newer movies tend to play it up. Neither is necessarily more accurate, IMO. Just different standards and things that sell movies in different times. I'm partial to The Lion in Winter as well. Also, The Mission, which is more "age of exploration" but deals with the counter-reformation in the new world, IIRC. But neither movie is good for young audiences, if that's what you're looking for. The Lion in Winter because of all the sexual innuendo and plot complexities and The Mission because of the violence.

Momling
Brother Sun, Sister Moon is a pretty awesome Franco Zeffirelli movie with a great Donovan soundtrack... be on the lookout for Alec Guiness as Pope Innocent III.
